If rumours are to be believed Mallika Sherawat is being considered for the leading role in director Kundan Shah’s next film.
The movie will be a political satire that Kundan Shah has been working on for many years. Its story is about a prostitute who is on the run. She goes through many testing circumstances and eventually becomes the chief minister of a state.
The yet-untitled film will have satirical humour similar to the one we saw in Shah’s best film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro.
Grapevine is abuzz that Shah is considering signing Mallika for the lead role of the prostitute in the film. The actress is also learnt to be eager to work with Shah. However, Shah hasn’t yet confirmed Mallika’s presence in the film. All he says is that the cast is being finalized.
The film will go on the floors early next year. “The film is tentatively titled Masquerade.”

There has been considerable speculation about what I'm up to and what my next releases are going to be since the release of Pyar Ke Side Effects.
For me I used the period to read scripts and prepare for my next few starring roles. In the meantime it was a period where I wanted to experiment a bit while nurturing my bank account, to try my hand at Dance numbers not being the greatest dancer, and to do character roles like Paresh and Boman do - and that brings me to the next release I feature in, Welcome, followed by Kamalhasan's Dashavataram - both these films offered me unique characters. Guru, Aap Ka Suroor, Welcome and Dashavataram feature me in Cameos / Guest Appearances / Special Appearances - call it what you may and I enjoyed doing all of them, but in no way did I star in any of them. I'm also sure as hell both Welcome and Dashavataram are gonna hit the jackpot!
My next two starring roles are PNC's "Ugly Aur Pagli" and Venus' "Maan-Gaye Mughal-e-Azam", which will both release in the first half of 2008. Looking forward to both releases.
Hugs and Kisses

comedy film. I though it would be interesting to cast her in one. So this will be her first step towards comedy." There are lot of things taking around this film.
Mallika Sherawat has replaced Tabu in ‘Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam’. Director says "Yes, Tabu was to do the role. But the way I look at it now, the role is perfect for Mallika" .
Mallika plays a character from a theatre group
in this film, and Sanjay, being a perfectionist,
is making sure that Mallika gets into the nuances of theatre artistes to incorporate it inher character.
And that’s why he recently took Mallika to the
ongoing Prithvi theatre festival to have a first-hand
feel of the theatre environment.
The sultry diva is also looking forward to shedding her bombshell tag as she will mostly don ethnic outfits.

The first one that is already on the floor is PNC’s Agli Aur Pagli with Ranvir Shorey as her co-star.The second is Sanjay Chel’s comedy for Venus with Paresh Rawal and Rahul Bose. And the third one is with Kundan Shah for Studio 18.
A little bird tells me that Fauj Mein Mauj (inspired by Goldie Hawn’s Private Benjamin) is the only film that has Ms Sherawat oozing oomph.

Making Mallika Sherawat look sexy is not a tough task. But to make her look pagli is not easy.
This is the task Rangita Nandy, daughter of Pritish Nandy, undertook for PNC’s film Ugly aur Pagli which has Mallika Sherawat and Ranvir Shorey in the lead roles.
The film has Mallika playing a wacky and crazy character for which the actress needed an entirely new makeover.
Rangita Nandy had a fairly good idea how she wanted Mallika to look in the movie. So she began working on the actress’s look. Rather than relying on a stylist, Rangita took the challenge herself.
She had a few discussions with the actress and reportedly made a few sketches of Mallika’s new look in the film. Hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani was briefed to give Mallika a hairstyle complementing the look. All in all, it took about two weeks to design Mallika’s new avatar.
And Mallika was reportedly impressed by Rangita’s work and dedication. She loved her new Pagli look in the film.
Not just this, Mallika displayed true professionalism by attending workshops that were held before the movie went on the floors recently.
‘Ugly And Pagli’ is a lighthearted romantic comedy. The movie marks the directorial debut of Sachin Khot.

After the success of Pyaar Ke Side Effects , Pritish Nandy Communications has roped in Mallika Sherawat once again for their next production Ugly Aur Pagli to be directed by debutante Sachin Khot.
With Pyaar Ke Side Effects , Mallika came out of her sex-symbol image playing a girl-next-door character and was also accepted as an actress over just being a seductress. Mallika continues to take her acting assignments more seriously with Ugly Aur Pagli . Perhaps PNC wants to establish her as a woman of substance.
In Ugly Aur Pagli , Mallika Sherawat is paired opposite Ranvir Shorey. The duo also worked together in Pyaar Ke Side Effects but is paired for the first time in this film. And as per sources, Mallika is undergoing an acting workshop to hone her performing capabilities. Says a source close to the actress, “Mallika is paired opposite Ranvir Shorey in the film who is considered to be a phenomenal actor. So to match her act with Ranvir, Mallika is currently doing an acting workshop. Even otherwise Mallika is taking the art of acting very seriously and wants to work hard to be the best in the business”.
It was a day to spread some cheer and some roses. Actresses Mallika Sherawat and Tara Sharma decided to get in touch with not just their craft skills, but also their inner child as they interacted with cancer-affected children at a special activities class on Rose Day.
When Mallika was asked if it’s all for publicity, the actress said, “It’s about time I do something worthwhile. And before you say I’ve come here for publicity, I’m telling you that this cause should get publicity.”
And there was certainly no lack of publicity given all the media presence.
Mallika says " Cancer association asked me to come, I thought someone took me seriously , so i landed here. " She adds " Children in India should get basic health care and education , It is their right".
And she asks media if they misses her , Evrybody cheers says alot.
Thats the mallika. We miss u darling.

Actress Mallika Sherawat is reported to be learning kickboxing nowadays.
It is no secret that Mallika loves to workout to maintain her svelte figure. But her newfound penchant for kickboxing is somewhat perplexing.
Reports say the actress has been practicing kickboxing not so much for her self-defense as for physical fitness. Moreover, the hot belle is reported to have roped in a trainer and is learnt to be reading books on kickboxing.
Sources say that because Mallika is making her foray into International cinema she wants to look absolutely fit, and kickboxing is one way to do it.
Mallika has a number of plum projects in her kitty.

The remake, like the 1980 original, is being produced and directed by Feroze Khan.
However, this time Feroze Khan will not play the lead role of the suave thief Rajesh. Instead he will step into the shoes of the eccentric inspector Amjad Khan, played by late Amjad Khan.
The lead role in the film has gone to Feroze Khan's son, Fardeen Khan. A hunt is on for an actor to play Vinod Khana's role of Amar. It was offered to Saif Ali Khan but he declined citing date problems.
According to Bollywood's rumor mill Saif turned down the role because Fardeen Khan was playing the lead. Later, in a tit-for-tat retaliation Fardeen walked out of Abbas-Mustan Race which has Saif playing a lead role.
Mallika has already consented to the role that was earlier offered to Priyanka Chopra. Feroze Khan is expected to make a formal announcement in a few days and filming will start shortly thereafter.
A source close to Khan says, "Mallika will be signing the film in a few days, but she has already given her consent.”

According to Mumbai mirror Mallika sherawat is starting her own banner ''Blue velvet". She is also backing the stuck film "Fauj mein mauj"
For all those who care to look beyond Mallika Sherawat's bosom, news is that the actress is turning a businesswoman. She is all set to start a production house with her brother Vikram very soon. If she chooses to produce the kind of films she acts in, other production houses will have to shut shop soon!
Mallika turns into Madame Mallika
Apparently, Mallika has wanted to start a production company for quite some time and now finally, the idea is crystallising. The name of the firm will be Blue Velvet and the actress is currently busy finalising scripts for her company.
A source informs, "Mallika has launched her banner Blue Velvet and is currently reading piles of scripts that she has received. She intends to support projects that she believes in. Many filmmakers have dropped their scripts at her office and from what we hear, upto 50 scripts are being scanned right now. Her brother Vikram will be looking at the financial aspects of the firm."
The source further adds, "It is quite likely that Mallika will start her production house by backing the stuck film Fauj Mein Mauj which is directed by Murli Nagavalli, who has been an assistant to Priyadarshan earlier. The film has Mallika Sherawat playing a female cadet in the Indian army. The film also stars Sahil Khan, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav."
Aajtak reported this news saying Mallika turned into Madame Mallika sherawat and film buffs have to line into Mallika sherawat's office.

Actress Mallika Sherawat has an unlikely supporter in Sushmita Sen who is quite impressed with her "spirit and spunk". "I really think she has a lot of spirit and spunk and tremendous audacity," Sushmita says.
"To have come from where she has and to establish her own identity, and to have that kind of spirit couldn't be easy. But she has done it," she says.
Tell her Mallika speaks of Sushmita as some kind of a role model, and the actress smiles. "Really? I haven't met Mallika but the little that I know of her, I like her."
Mallika, who is transcending borders with Bill Bannerman's Unveiled, seems to subscribe to Sushmita's school of thought."I don't know what Mallika's thoughts are. But I feel every role I've played so far has been a stepping stone towards the goal that I've set for myself. To get to a summit you need to climb step by step. I think I've been climbing the stairs very steadily.

Mallika will appear in yet another film to be directed by Govind imaginatively titled - Bollywood Bombshell. The film, like other past works of the director, is inspired from a Hollywood production.
Even more interesting is the fact that Mallika's professional relationship with Govind is progressing to a business partnership. The two will jointly produce Bollywood Bombshell, finance for which is being sought from overseas.
Indeed, Mallika's foray into Hollywood through Bill Bannerman's planned thriller Unveiled has been engineered by the Mallika – Govind partnership.

American TV host Howard Stern compared her to Pamela Anderson and asked her to bare it all on his TV show. But Bollywood babe Mallika Sherawat turned him down to face more challenging career options.
This bold lass is out to change her image and also that of the stereotypical Asian woman in her forthcoming Hollywood flick, Unveiled.
I simply love Dubai. It’s very multi-cultural. There’s a very healthy exchange of ideas prevailing here. For me, I love visiting Dubai as it gives me very positive vibes. Mallika Sherawat, Actress
XPRESS caught up with the actress who is in Dubai to inaugurate the Indian restaurant and dance club, It’s Mirchi, at the Ramee Royal hotel.
Mallika on what she likes about Dubai
I simply love Dubai. It’s very multi-cultural. It’s a melting pot, where people from different backgrounds come together and blend into one society.
There’s a very healthy exchange of ideas prevailing here. For me, I love visiting Dubai as it gives me very positive vibes.
Right now, I’m really looking forward to going to It’s Mirchi and burning the dance floor. I want to burn that dance floor.
On her new Hollywood movie, Unveiled
There’s a lot happening. But the movie I’m really excited about is the Hollywood film Unveiled. It’s directed by Bill Bannerman, Clint Eastwood’s right-hand man who has assisted him in most of his films. This is the first time that a Middle Eastern woman plays the protagonist in a film. For once, the story is from her perspective. I play a traditional Muslim girl who transforms into an ultra-modern woman. Usually Asian actors are typecast, but here I get to play a different role. Most films portray characters from the Middle East as militants. Also, women from this region don’t get well-defined roles. It’s a great opportunity for me to do something challenging.
The movie will showcase the journey of a woman, it could be a woman’s story anywhere in the world. From what I understand, Unveiled is more on the lines of let’s say Million Dollar Baby or Monster.
On making it to Asia's 100 Most Beautiful Women list
I feel very good. I feel very happy. And Asia is like more than half the world’s population.
On the shift from Hindi to South Indian films
If someone like Kamal Hassan calls you to work with him, how can you ever say no. I consider myself very lucky that he’s offered me a role. There is so much that I can learn from him.

What Aishwarya Rai did in the West – by winning the title of the most beautiful woman in the world from Julia Roberts and also being included among the most influential 100 people of Asia by Western media – Mallika Sherawat seems to have replicated in her own special way by earning a place in the hearts of the people in the East. If she can't conquer the West, she has brought glory to herself by becoming a well-known and admired icon in the East, which is becoming equally Bollywood-conscious!
The leading Hong Kong fashion and beauty magazine Cover has honored Mallika by including her in the 100 most beautiful people in Asia. The magazine is regarded as an authority on fashion, beauty and entertainment in the Asia Pacific region, says DNA.
Giving reasons for this choice, Editor Ellie O'Ready says, "Mallika is truly one of the 100 most beautiful people in Asia and our list just wouldn't be complete without her." Cover magazine will follow this honor to Mallika by doing a major pictorial feature and interview with the Murder star within the next few weeks.
Mallika began her 'career' in the East when she was chosen by Jackie Chan, the superstar of the East, for a role in his film The Myth. Mallika soon had the opportunity to walk the red carpet with the world famous actor in Cannes where the film was shown. Chan, at that time, had remarked that he had chosen her for his film because she was 'well-endowed'!
